Christmas in Bethlehem?

As millions around the world celebrate Christmas, the birth day of Jesus, he is mysteriously missing from the city of his birth, Bethlehem.

Wandering through the streets, one sees twinkle lights, Santa statues and other festivities, but no sign of the real reason this day even exists. Locals observed that through the years, Jesus has begun to disappear more and more from the historic Manger square and the Manger Road. While officials maintain that relations between Christians and non-Christians are harmonious, the lack of an overt presence of Jesus in the city of his birth makes one question the stated status quo. One church in Bethlehem decided to do something about it and has put up a large sign to commemorate the “reason for the season.”

As you celebrate this season of light, please pray for the persecuted Christians in Bethlehem this year - for courage, for safety, and for the peace of God to fill this biblical city once again.

Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
